Author Guidelines
Authors submitting manuscripts to BioMedPha should follow these guidelines carefully. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned for correction before editorial consideration.
1. Scope and Originality
BioMedPha welcomes original scholarly research in biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, clinical research, public health, biotechnology, life sciences, and related interdisciplinary fields.
Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
2. Language
Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional, and academically appropriate English. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and readability of the manuscript before submission.
3. Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should generally be prepared using:
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
- Language: English
Pages should be numbered consecutively, and headings should be clearly organized.
4. Manuscript Structure
Original research articles should normally include:
Title: Clear, specific, and informative.
Abstract: Approximately 150–250 words summarizing the background, objective, methods, principal results, and conclusion.
Keywords: Provide 3–6 relevant keywords.
Introduction: Present the background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.
Materials and Methods: Describe the research design, participants or samples, materials, procedures, interventions, laboratory methods, statistical analyses, and ethical approval where applicable.
Results: Present the findings clearly without unnecessary duplication between text, tables, and figures.
Discussion: Interpret the findings in relation to relevant scientific literature and discuss their significance and limitations.
Conclusion: Present the principal conclusions and implications of the research.
Acknowledgements: Recognize individuals or organizations that contributed to the work but do not qualify for authorship.
Funding: Disclose all sources of financial support or state that no specific funding was received.
Conflict of Interest: Declare relevant competing interests or state that none exist.
References: Provide complete and accurate references using the journal's prescribed referencing style.
5. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.
Each table should have a clear title, and each figure should include an appropriate caption. Authors should ensure that images and figures are of sufficient quality for publication.
Permission must be obtained for copyrighted third-party material where required.
6. Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript and who accept responsibility for the published work.
All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission. Guest, gift, and ghost authorship are not acceptable.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and for ensuring that all authors are informed about the submission and publication process.
7. Human Participant Research
Research involving human participants, human biological material, or identifiable personal data must comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements.
Where required, authors must provide details of approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Research Ethics Committee, or equivalent authority.
Authors must obtain informed consent from participants where applicable. Identifiable patient information, photographs, or case details must not be published without appropriate consent.
8. Animal Research
Research involving animals must comply with applicable institutional, national, and internationally recognized animal welfare requirements.
Authors should provide details of relevant ethical approval or authorization where required.
9. Clinical Trials
Clinical trials should comply with applicable ethical and regulatory requirements. Where prospective registration is required, authors should provide the trial registry name and registration number in the manuscript.
10. Data and Scientific Integrity
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all data presented.
Fabrication, falsification, inappropriate manipulation of data or images, selective misrepresentation of results, and other forms of research misconduct are prohibited.
Authors should retain relevant research data and provide supporting information when reasonably requested, subject to ethical, confidentiality, consent, and legal restrictions.
11. Plagiarism and Originality
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection software.
Authors must properly acknowledge all sources and avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material.
A numerical similarity score alone is not considered proof of plagiarism; similarity is assessed in context according to the journal's Plagiarism Policy.
12. Use of Artificial Intelligence
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, references, data, analysis, and conclusions of their manuscripts. Substantive use of generative AI in conducting research or preparing a manuscript should be transparently disclosed where applicable.
13. Peer Review
Manuscripts that successfully pass initial editorial screening are normally evaluated through BioMedPha's double-blind peer review process by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
Authors should remove identifying information from the manuscript submitted for peer review.
A separate title page should contain the manuscript title, author names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID iDs where available, and corresponding author information.
14. Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) submission platform.
During submission, authors should provide all required metadata and supporting information and confirm compliance with the journal's ethical, originality, authorship, and submission requirements.
15. Author Fees
BioMedPha does not charge submission fees, Article Processing Charges (APCs), peer-review fees, or publication fees.
Submission and publication are free of charge.
16. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright in their published work.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, allowing sharing, distribution, adaptation, and reuse, including commercial reuse, provided appropriate attribution is given.
17. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with BioMedPha's editorial, ethical, peer review, plagiarism, copyright, licensing, and research integrity policies.
Submission of a manuscript confirms that all authors have read and agreed to comply with the journal's policies and requirements.
