Author Guidline

Authors submitting manuscripts to Algora: Journal of AI, Data Science & Engineering should carefully follow the guidelines below. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's requirements may be returned for revision before editorial consideration.

1. Scope and Originality

The journal welcomes original scholarly contributions in artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal at the time of submission.

Manuscripts must be written in clear and professional English.

2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts:

Original Research Articles: 5,000–8,000 words
Review Articles: up to 10,000 words
Case Studies / Short Papers: 2,000–4,000 words
Policy Papers or Briefs: 1,500–3,000 words
Book Reviews / Commentary: 1,000–2,000 words

Word limits normally exclude references, tables, figures, and supplementary materials.

3. Manuscript Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following requirements:

File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
Line spacing: 1.5
Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
Language: English
Referencing style: APA, 7th Edition

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and appropriately referred to within the text.

4. Manuscript Structure

Research manuscripts should generally contain the following elements, where applicable:

Title: A clear and concise title reflecting the content of the manuscript.

Abstract: A concise summary of approximately 150–250 words describing the purpose, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions.

Keywords: Provide 3–5 relevant keywords.

Introduction: Present the background, research problem, rationale, objectives, and relevant context.

Methodology: Clearly describe the research design, data, methods, models, algorithms, experiments, or analytical procedures used.

Results: Present the main findings clearly, using tables and figures where appropriate.

Discussion: Interpret the findings and discuss their significance in relation to relevant literature.

Conclusion: Summarize the major findings, contributions, implications, and, where appropriate, limitations and future research directions.

References: Include all cited sources and format them according to APA 7th Edition.

Appendices/Supplementary Material: May be included where necessary.

5. Citation and Reference Style

The journal follows the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 7th Edition.

Authors must use APA style consistently for both in-text citations and the reference list.

For example, parenthetical citations should generally appear as (Author, Year), while narrative citations may appear as Author (Year).

Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and every entry in the reference list should correspond to a citation in the manuscript, except where APA conventions provide otherwise.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their references. Where available, DOI information should be provided in the format recommended by APA 7th Edition.

6. Double-Blind Submission Requirements

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process. Authors must therefore submit:

Blinded Manuscript: The manuscript should not contain author names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgements, or other information that directly identifies the authors.

Separate Title Page: The title page should contain:

full manuscript title;
full names of all authors;
institutional affiliations;
email addresses;
ORCID iDs, where available; and
identification of the corresponding author.

Authors should also avoid unnecessarily identifying themselves within the blinded manuscript.

7. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be relevant, clearly presented, appropriately numbered, and cited within the manuscript.

Titles, captions, notes, and presentation should follow APA 7th Edition conventions where applicable.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted tables, figures, images, or other third-party materials where permission is required.

8. Ethical Requirements

Authors must comply with accepted standards of research and publication ethics.

Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or other activities requiring ethical oversight must have appropriate ethical approval where applicable. Details of ethical approval and informed consent should be provided when required.

Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal's Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Policies.

9. Authorship

All listed authors should have made a meaningful scholarly contribution to the work, approved the submitted manuscript, and agreed to its submission.

Guest, gift, and ghost authorship are not acceptable.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the manuscript.

10. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, analysis, and integrity of their manuscripts. Substantive use of generative AI in the preparation or conduct of the research should be transparently disclosed where applicable.

AI-generated material must not replace the authors' original scholarly analysis or intellectual contribution.

11. Submission Process

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) submission platform.

Authors should complete all required metadata, upload the blinded manuscript and separate title page, and provide any additional declarations or supplementary files required during submission.

Submission of a manuscript confirms that all authors have approved the work and agree to its consideration by the journal.

12. Peer Review

Research manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening undergo the journal's double-blind peer review process.

Manuscripts are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer and editorial comments.

The final publication decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor.

13. Publication Fees and Open Access

The journal does not charge submission fees, Article Processing Charges (APCs), peer-review fees, or publication fees.

Published articles are freely available under the journal's open access policy.

14. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright in their published work.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which permits sharing and adaptation of the work, including for commercial purposes, provided appropriate attribution is given to the original author(s) and source.
