Abstract

From power grids to financial systems, critical infrastructure underpins the very fabric of modern society. Yet, as our reliance on interconnected digital systems grows, so too does their vulnerability to cyberattacks. This article delves into the evolving landscape of cyberwarfare, where nation-states, hacktivists, and criminal organizations increasingly target critical infrastructure, threatening societal stability and economic prosperity. We examine the vulnerabilities inherent in interconnected systems, explore existing and emerging cyber defenses, and advocate for a multi-pronged approach to securing critical infrastructure in the age of digital warfare.
